Im trying to remember the title of an asian kung fu movie which i really want to watch again. From what i remember the fight scene is with spears in a kind of old styled court yard and an old man playing a traditional asian instrument in the background while the others 2 people fight.
Any thoughts are much appreciated.
Thanks|||Sounds like many films, how about %26quot;Hero%26quot;|||I%26#039;ll agree with Hero... Jet Li%26#039;s fight with Donnie Yen.. awesome.

Where Can I Learn Kung Fu And/Or Ninjutsu?
I think Kung Fu would be more suited towards me because I am of Chinese origin.
But Ninjutsu seems mysterious and deadly.
Does anyone know what schools or places teach these? Any other info about the arts themselves?|||In order for us to help you, we need to know where you live.

Is there shaolin kung fu near Rochester, New York?
I want to learn shaolin kung fu and I was wondering if there were any schools near Rochester, New York?|||USSD has schools in that area and they teach Shaolin Kempo. Their headmaster, Professor Matera was awarded 9th rank black belt by the Shaolin headmaster. Shaolin Kempo is a combination of Shaolin style and Japanese Karate and Jiujitsu. They teach the animal styles of Shaolin as th basis of the text, yet they use a streamlined approach morel ike Karate and use karate style gi%26#039;s. Then they use some of the grappling and counter styles from Jiujitsu to make it more street friendly.|||first off I know the area of rochester even though I live in the city.
There is not as many MA schools there like there are new york city and even in new york city I don%26#039;t think there is a legit shaolin kung fu school.
I haven%26#039;t seen any.
The problem with Chinese Martial Arts is that there are so many bad schools out there and so many sham teachers that teach you nothing but garbage and they train without resistance that it makes finding a legit one that much harder to find, even in a large city like new york. I%26#039;m convinced as a matter of fact that you won%26#039;t find legitimate CMA outside of a large metropolitan area. I could be wrong, I%26#039;m sure there is one somewhere, but I%26#039;m doubtfull and chances are it is not your area.
Even among CMA Shaolin and tai chi are the frauds of the frauds, they are MUCH harder to find a good CMA (except san da which is chinese kickboxing, basically) school than other CMA%26#039;s.
Go to the class, and if they don%26#039;t train with resistance then walk away. if they tell you to build up your %26quot;chi%26quot; and talk about magic powers, etc. walk away.
It is much safer to gravitate towards arts that have more competitive outlets like Muai Thai, boxing, bjj, judo, san da, sambo that are much easier to find a legit school. If you don%26#039;t know what you are looking for or at or able to tell a good school giving instruction and most importanlty teaching you how to apply it in a fight, then you could end up wasting your time and thinking you are learning when you aren%26#039;t.
I myself take a CMA and have tested it (sparred) against people outside my school and done well, That is why I%26#039;m harder on CMA than people who don%26#039;t take it. And I know how much crap there is floating around even from my short time training in it). So I%26#039;m not just out to crap on shaolin or chinese martial arts in general, there are many that are, but I don%26#039;t want to see someone make a mistake and support a school that doesn%26#039;t deserve to be teaching in the first place.|||pretty sure there%26#039;s a school or two in nyack. just type in kung fu nyack and you%26#039;ll get something. good luck!

Where to learn wushu or kung fu in birmingham?
i just wanted to ask does anyone know if there are any places in birmingham to learn wushu of kung fu- preferably wushu because ive been watching too much jet li films ( cradle to the grave, romeo must die) help requested please?|||While waiting for others to post a more specific and accurate contact information in regards your search.
In the meantime, If you%26#039;re serious enough I suggest the following step for you to take.
First thing you have to do is check your local yellow pages or phone book, look for the all the available schools your area has to offer.
If you%26#039;re not in the area yet, call someone you know in the local area to scan, mail or list the martial arts section on the yellow page and have them sent to you.
The reason I always suggest to look in the phone book first is due to the fact you%26#039;re pretty much searching for a school that are in your local area. You may even find one a few blocks down from you. Using the phone book as your first step will make your search faster and easier because all the information such address and phone number are available for you right there.
Secondly, if you are not having any success with this type search, After all the vigorous research on styles and decided on a particular style of martial arts. Try contacting a legitimate organization of that particular style on the internet and ask if they can refer schools or certified instructors available in your local area.
Please note that there are good number of good instructors that do not advertise or teach for commercial purpose thus you won%26#039;t see them advertise anywhere. They are mostly located in private gyms or community centers. Just them a call and even if they don%26#039;t have a program ask to see who they can refer you to.
Try all styles or any other styles that you have already decided upon. Call the schools in your area to see if they are offering free lessons or find out if they have any and how much is introductory classes for a month.
Taking ONE trial classes just does not cut it because at that moment you%26#039;re excited and often times this excitement often leads you to making a wrong decision such signing a long term contract ( Gasp ! Never ever sign a contract !) or other bad decisions.
One last thing, I don%26#039;t mean to sound abrasive, but If the above suggestion is too much work for you, then the probability of you being serious in joining a martial arts school is less than zero. I am sorry to say this but, I am sincere in helping you in your quest, but you have to do your part.
Hope this helps and good luck with your search.
