My main goal is weight loss. However, I would also like to learn technique and I really like long flowy forms. I%26#039;m not really interested in weapons. I would like to develop speed. Which kung fu is good for me? Can anyone recommend a good school in San Francisco?|||There isn%26#039;t going to be a significant difference in schools relative to weightloss, and quite frankly other than doing something like BJJ or some sort of intense MMA oriented fighting school, martial arts alone just isn%26#039;t going to burn the fat off all that well.
I would suggest finding a school on the other side of town from you, then ride a bicycle to and from class. In San Fransisco (I lived there for 3 years, so I know the area) that should burn off a bit of weight, assuming you don%26#039;t change your calorie intake to compensate.|||San Francisco...Nice... You should check out Bruce Lee%26#039;s School... Jeet Kun Do . One of his students are the teacher there now. Look it up on the net at Yahoo or Google Maps and type Jeet Kun Do and then type your city name. Also you sould try Shoalin Kung Fu|||the right answer for yr question is wushu the art tat jet lee did ..its part of kung fu....in yr place there r also good school of wing chu (the art tat bruce lee did)...there r lots of good school just make yr mind which art u wanna learn.good luck|||You live in San Francisco theres bound to be tons of good schools there due to the absolute racial rainbow in that city.
Try to find a Shaolin Monk that opened a school in your area. Various Shaolin styles, Wing Chun, Southern Praying Mantis, Hung Gar, Choy Li Fut, etc are big name kung fu styles.
The various Northern Shaolin arts fit your wants.|||TKD is probably best for work outs. However If you need a good work out You may need to ad to your work outs whatever the art. Just classes two to four hours a week won%26#039;t cut it.
