Are there any sites that can teach you kung fu easily?

Let%26#039;s say like a beginner%26#039;s giude to Kung Fu|||Not really no.

You need an instructor to correct the mistakes you make, the first time you try anything, because beginners always make A LOT of mistakes. Practising only makes things worse because you jst get better at doing the wrong thing.

There are tutorials and such on youtube but those are supposed to be guides for those that are already receiving instruction.|||You cannot learn anything about how to actually fight off the net. You might find a reference to aid your training, but you need regular instruction and competent training partners. No way around this, unfortunately. This is especially true with kung fu, since the Chinese martial arts scene is drowning in bullshit and fakery, so you won%26#039;t know if what you%26#039;re learning is any use unless you can try it in sparring.

Also, Mr Chris and Wing Chun, please stop beating up the strawmen.

Chris, I doubt anyone at your gym could beat Hari, Silva or Ludwig either. Do you think you could take Cung Le, or another high level San Shou competitor?

Moreover, Kung Fu has no groundfighting? True. But neither does Muay Thai, boxing, kyokushin karate, etc. Kung fu styles all focus on striking and standing grappling; and all practitioners of all styles like that have to cross train in groundfighting. That%26#039;s hardly revolutionary. Moreover, Shuai Jiao practitioners are not clueless with regard to standing grappling.

WCKF: Not everything comes from the Shaolin temple. If the Greeks could develop submission wrestling independently, why not the Japanese? In fact, wrestling predates kung fu in China too. But there is no mention of groundfighting (as opposed to standing grappling, of which there is plenty) in Chinese martial art history before the 20th century. Anyone who says otherwise... is mistaken.

EDIT for the sake of fairness: Ok, it%26#039;s not entirely about the style per se, but about the training methodologies. Some styles, as a rule, simply train better than others (i.e. judo vs. aikido), and so produce overall a better level of fighter. Kung fu from what I%26#039;ve seem tends more often that not to fall in the category of %26#039;others%26#039;. YMMV.|||Websites, Books, Videos are ok - only as reference. You really need to find a qualified instructor, that is very good at instructing. Find a school and watch a class. See how the instructor teaches, how he or she relates to the individual student. See whether or not the style teaches something you are interested in. Make sure they are not a take your dough, long term contractual commitment school. Once you have started training and have a good basic understanding of the style, you can go to websites, books, and videos to give you some pointers or ideas to think about incorporating into your training. Ask questions of your instructor. Try to stay away from giant egos, superstars, tournament oriented trophy winning schools etc. Most of the time they are shallow at best. Good instructors are not mini gods. If they are a legend in their own mind they may not be much help to you. I tend to look for humble individuals that are truly interested in each student, and open with their information. Remember %26quot;Practice only makes permanent. Practice with proper correction and hard work makes perfect.%26quot; :-)|||I don%26#039;t know why you%26#039;d want to learn Kung Fu as it%26#039;s been proven to be next to worthless, but if you%26#039;re hell bent on learning it (for the history or art or whatever) and you don%26#039;t want to pay for an instructor I%26#039;m sure they sell some instructional videos on budovideos.com. However, I would strongly urge you to consider learning an effective martial art instead.

If you want to learn standup learn Muay Thai. Some good instructionals are Vut Kanmark%26#039;s %26#039;Muay Thai Boxing%26#039; and Duane Ludwig%26#039;s %26#039;Full Force.%26#039;

If you%26#039;d be open to jiu jitsu consider Eddie Bravo%26#039;s %26#039;Mastering the Rubber Guard%26#039;, that%26#039;s cutting edge stuff right there.

If you just want to learn all around fighting consider Bas Rutten%26#039;s %26#039;Big DVDs of Combat%26#039; or Mario Sperry%26#039;s %26#039;Vale Tudo%26#039; series.

Also if you%26#039;re still in school and you haven%26#039;t done it yet SIGN UP FOR YOUR WRESTLING TEAM! That will teach you more about fighting than most instructional videos and certainly more than any traditional martial art even if you attended the classes.

*EDIT*

Oh boo %26#039;Wing Chun Kung Fu%26#039;, you%26#039;re clearly talking your position. You most likely spent your whole life learning a worthless martial art and rather than accept the new information and move on you are anchored to your previous assesment. I feel bad that you wasted so much of your life, I really do, but don%26#039;t come on here trying to get other people to do the same.

Assuming they weigh the same, there is no one at your gym that can beat Duane Ludwig (155 - 170), Anderson Silva (185), or Badr Hari (HW) in a standup fight. Kung Fu doesn%26#039;t train much in the way of ground fighting so in a real fight everyone at your gym would get scorched by a plethora of fighters and I won%26#039;t even humor how your Kung Fu instructor would do in a grappling match.

I used to take Soo Hwa Kung Fu in Plano, TX once I found out it didn%26#039;t work I withdrew and moved on with my life. Rather than put together another beligerant response you should do a critical review of what you%26#039;ve been taught and consider very seriously if it%26#039;s time to move on.

*EDIT 2*

This will be my last response and I%26#039;ll make it brief. Vale Tudo (no holds barred fighting) has been around for a very long time in Brazil. I have never seen a Kung Fu guy win in a local %26#039;smoker.%26#039; I have never seen a Kung Fu guy even compete in a grappling tourney. In the rare occasions that a kung fu guy pops up in a small mma show he always loses, not to mention the ones that lost in the early UFCs before they knew better than to let them in. If you know of ANY examples to the contrary I welcome you to post a link to their fight finder record on sherdog.com. Also, you can%26#039;t know if a martial art is truly effective unless you spar... hard. You obviously can%26#039;t try those ridiculous death blows, eye gouges, groin strikes, and throat punches (with the bent fist) taught at traditional martial arts schools so you can%26#039;t know if they work. Also that certain angle open hand punch to the nose that allegedly sends nose fragments into the brain and kills them... That%26#039;s a myth, but they still teach it because it%26#039;s never used so they can keep up the ridiculous claim. I guess if anyone grabs your wrist with the correct hand and lets you do that twist thing you%26#039;ll have them, but there isn%26#039;t a lot of stand up wrist grabbing in the fights that I%26#039;ve witnessed. I%26#039;ve already gone longer than I intended, but in closing I didn%26#039;t realize you would be so sensitive about criticism so I apologize for hurting your feelings. If you think that you%26#039;re learning effective self defense in your kung fu school then by all means continue.|||From personal experience i think the best way to learn karate is by going to a karate school. I have been goin for 8 years and i am a first degree black belt. Karate has kept me fit and is a very good topic to write about on a college acceptance paper if you have been doing it for a long time.|||You can%26#039;t learn any sport from a book or web site. You need a teacher.

Kung Fu is a catch all. There is a huge difference between Shaolin, Wu Shu, and Wing Chun, just to name three kung fu systems.

Wikipedia has good articles on the various forms, and people around here can help you decide what form to practice if you%26#039;re set on kung fu. It%26#039;s not the best self defense form in the world, but if that%26#039;s what you want to do then go for it.

But seek out an instructor.|||Not really, no. Internet information on almost any kung fu style tends to be pretty poor- and even if it were absolutely comprehensive and flawless, all it could do is teach you *about* kung fu, not teach you kung fu. For that, you need to spend some face time with a good instructor.|||Mr. Piss-head Chris can%26#039;t tell an *** from his head.

He%26#039;s one of those MMA nuthuggers who believes in %26quot;effective martial arts%26quot;.

It depends on the person, not the style.

Back to subject, NO.

Go to a school and pay like all of us/our parents are.

You can use videos later after you%26#039;ve gotten really good at a martial art.

Cheers

So you judge all of Kung Fu by one style in 1 school?

Might as well be racist while your at it.

As much as you boohoo me, I laugh at your clue-less-ness.

Kung Fu does have ground game, why don%26#039;t you go ask Sensei Scandal that? Why don%26#039;t you check where all grappling arts such as Japanese Jujitsu originate from?

Shaolin Temple, Moron.

The only exception there is, is the western arts such as boxing, fencing, and savate.

I also feel sorry that you judge how effective an art is under a set of rules in an octagon. And you judge people I train with that you don%26#039;t even know just because they do %26quot;Kung Fu%26quot;. Stereotypical moron.

MMA has been around for 15 years, Kung Fu has been around for centuries. The styles have been used in wars, where there are multiple people, weapons, boundaries, etc. Not in an octagon or ring with gloves on and crappy rules.

Ummm, who said I believe in the death blow, nose up brain crap?

Once again your judging because I practice a style of Kung Fu that I believe in all this stuff.

And you still babble about the same crap. There is no need to go to an octagon because a martial artist should not have anything to prove.

And it depends on the fighter, not the style, how many times are I and every other person in this forum are going to say that?

I backup my facts with history. You backup your facts with 2 people fighting in an octagon half naked.

No, you didn%26#039;t hurt me that much. I%26#039;m a teen, so I do get sensitive sometimes. Judge me all you want, I know more than most. And I will continue my style proudly and follow my facts.

So now that you%26#039;ve stopped arguing with me, Happy New Years Chris. Have an MMA (Messy Martial Arts) nuthugging New Year.|||www.expertvillage.com

just search up kung fu. But if i were you i would actually join a kung fu school or something, since form in martial art has to be perfect, and theres no way if ur form is right unless a martial arts master makes sure. But you can learn some kung fu stuff from that site styll|||well, if you want to learn the basic stuff such as stances and stuff you can go here:

http://www.flashmavi.com/karate.shtml|||sites? No. School? you betcha.
