How long does it take to stretch until you are flexible enough to do nice looking northern kung fu kicks?

I have been doing long fist for a year and a half and have decided to start stretching so i can do better for performance and form competitions. About how long does it take for the average body type to become limber enough, or even notice a sufficient change?

My personal body type is the ideal kind for long fist. Skinny, 6 feet tall, and long limbs.

I can already do cresent and whirlwind kicks, but they lack flexibility.

I know such fancy kicks aren%26#039;t very ideal unless youre exceptionally good, but these are just for shows and form competition.|||to perform well in your kicking you need both strenght and flexibility in your legs and kua area. Regarding your flexibility you need to stretch every day a Little further and most importantly relax in your stretching. Time, natural genetic ability and perseverance are your limits. Keep up the good work an good luck with your shows!|||Get a cranking stretch machine. Plus strectching and flexabilty are two different things. All babies can do the splits, keep it childlike simple and RELAX. Your fear is what stops YOU.|||hard to say . Give yourself about 2 months of intense stretching and you should be good|||It mainly depends on what method of stretching you use and also how many times and how long you attend class.|||It pretty much depends on how often you practice in your classes/at home. I would recommend to stretch the very moment you wake up from bed in the morning, every day --and to have a %26#039;nice looking%26#039; kick, it would take at least 2 years of daily practice. More intense training should shorten your 2 years to 1 year of training.
