i play kung fu in egypt and was just wondering whats the name of the style i play...
its composed of 3 things:
1-boxing ( fighting using only hands DUH lol )
2-wrestling
3-like karate ( kicking and everything )
its competetive cauz at the end of the training we do fights ( wearing funny things to protect us )
hmm no weapons|||Sandai. I%26#039;m sure of it.|||Sorry I mis-spelled it. It%26#039;s actually just Sanda. If you google that you will find results, guaranteed. Report Abuse
|||if you are actually learning to fight (your post indicates sparring with gear at the end of class), then what the hell do you care what it is called?
not trying to offend you, but you could either ask your teacher or just enjoy the fact that you are recieving contact training that many CMA (chinese martail arts aka kung fu) practitioners don%26#039;t recieve becasue they train at schools that are just out to take your money.
sounds like you found a school that does full contact and resistance training against another person.
so long as thats the case and what you are doing at the end of class looks more like a boxing or muai thai fight than just %26quot;punch tag%26quot; (punch then break after one guy hits) otherwise known as point sparring, then you are learning that.
as for the style name, ask your teacher but don%26#039;t get too hung up onit.|||hmmm...
i think its kaeyokoshin... [i forgot the spelling, but thats the pronounce]
anyways.. ours is karate... not kung fu...
it was invented by a man called Mas Oyma.. [spelling not sure]
... ours is a full contact sport too... we did not have the %26#039;funny things to protect us%26#039;....to prove it... i have 17 stitches on one side of the head... 22 on the other... broken nose in two places... 4 teeth missing now in caps... 4 stitches on the left corner of the left eye brow... 2 stiches on the right corner of the left eye brow... permanently sprained vertibre [lower back]...
... on the plus side.. permanent rock hard abs.. even under layers of fat!! solid bone... permanent %26#039;mean%26#039; stance of walking... higher respect for myself... and a magnetic personality... cause if you know you can take anyb down... you tend to be very happy about it!!! HAAHAAAHA!!!
oh... and it helped me with my hockey games... haahaahaa!!
ps.. even after years... I still am a WHITE BELT!! oh man... i just cant do the kaatas... i cant remember them...|||Kung Fu has nothing to do with martial arts.
What you are describing is not %26quot;kung fu%26quot;.
I call what you are doing %26quot;chop suey-kahrotee%26quot;.|||Jiu Jitsu.
